ROUND & ROUND - Improv Medallion Quilts with Maria Shell

Four Day Workshop--Wednesday--Saturday, April 9--12, 2025

Creating an improv medallion quilt is a super fun way to learn about improvisionally piecing within a structure. Students will learn the following things and more—how to piece improv units so that they are approximately the same size, how to do intuitive math, how to create asymmetrical symmetry, and how to create a super satisfying medallion masterpiece.

Price includes meals (Dinner Tuesday night through breakfast Sunday morning) and lodging from Tuesday afternoon through Sunday morning and a full workshop of guided instruction from Maria!!

$1200 includes lodging (see rooms under accommodations), meals, and the workshop! Friends can request to room together.  Out of towners can  fly into Kansas City, Uber or shuttle to Art Nest anytime on Tuesday, leave by afternoon on Sunday. There is a quilt shop 7 minutes away, Sew Enchanting Equine  for any last minute supplies!

Arrive Wednesday anytime after 10 AM , leave Sunday before 4 PM. 

This includes 4 night 5 day retreat, friends can room together by request, see room accommodations. Missouri Quilt Star Birthday Bash in Hamilton is this week. Shopping, vendors, demos, food trucks.

Make trips to Hamilton event (51 min drive) and sew in the evening at Art Nest Retreat Center.

We provide continental breakfast Thursday through Sunday. 

Dinner provided Wednesday, Thursday, & Saturday.

Friday night we eat out at our favorite local Mexican restaurant or you are on your own.
